You cannot influence the direction of the wind,

Ed Hooijschuur

The experience and the knowledge of LOGIS trainers is based on many years of practical experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management. All trainers have extensive theoretical knowledge as a well as insight into logistic training requirements. They are able to provide a comprehensive package of logistic training courses. Most of the trainers also work as college lecturers. They have applied the LOGIS training concept at a wide range of companies (see references). The concept itself is based on the broad experience of LOGIS’ founder, Ed Hooijschuur.

In the early nineteen seventies, Ed studied Economics and Logistics at the Royal Military Academy. From 1975 until 1988 he held numerous operational and executive positions. In 1988 he decided that training was the way forward. He initially worked for a consultancy firm, but subsequently went on to become an independent entrepreneur, trainer and consultant. He currently has around 20 years of experience in the field of logistic training and consultancy.

One of his main points of departure is that Supply Chain Management is a people business. It is possible to set up numerous different systems, but if people fail to use them they simply cannot be effective. Ed teaches people that teamwork is the mainstay of logistic success and that communication and coordination are the key objectives. A deal is a deal and mutual respect is key to success.

As teamwork is something that has to be developed, Ed feels that in-company programmes are vital in addition to open training courses. It is a law of nature - the team is the participant.

And once a training course has finished, Ed gives participants the opportunity to discuss any questions they may have by e-mail.

His considerable experience across the board is highly appreciated. His experience covers production and distribution companies, administrative organisations, and maintenance, service and care institutions. As a freelance trainer, Ed also works for several prestigious training centres.

Most of Logis’ clients are based in the Netherlands, although LOGIS trainers are also able to provide courses in English. As it is the generic elements that form the backbone of the programme, we conduct a specific needs analysis for every client.

As Ed believes in the principle of permanent education he constantly updates his own knowledge. He has among other things completed the APICS CSCP programme.
